At $2 this was the cheapest picture I could find - a bunch of Lords and Ladies playing some sort of game of Ring-a-Round-a-Rosy around a blindfolded man with a spoon... Very intriging...

This is the full picture with the frame:
http://tk.files.storage.msn.com/x1pAdjo0uCo2H0bGCQAMvrPzRWSlYqTIkbMgHO_blKkZyqmHYUUPzOL5IoZxP5n2JmrjkaQmtDn10OrCZEfSlJ6fEjvqPYv15X0RTEWJaiF-lhSIlfSrXbiqgkI_rZeke3wo2CYL0Xk9sqmitr5K7YJ-WRft9Id_03c

And here's a scan so you can appreciate the strangeness of the original:

And here is my re-vamped picture, with the frame:

And a scan to show the detail:

A larger image can be viewed here.

The shape of the tree inspired me to to do the arch at the top (I was originally going to do a tree on either side meeting in the middle), and I tried to keep the positions of the mermaids (particularly their faces) as close to the people in the original picture as much as possible.

I think I might see if I can find some sealer to spray on it and hang it in my bathroom. Thanks for looking!

wow, that looks great! what media (is that the rigt word) did you use? (what i mean to ask is if it's done in pens, oil paint, etc.) i like how the lines look very crisp and well-defined.

The background was done with acrylic paints and the border and mermaids were done on paper with pens and pencils and then glued onto the background.
