So I decided to make a fleece blanket featuring the Superman logo for one of my friends as a Christmas present. The logo is deceptively simple looking, so I figured even with my limited drawing skills, I could sketch it out freehand. I was doing fine until I got to the left side of the logo. After much thinking I figured I needed to take the plunge and cut out some of it. And I got this:

Another friend of mine who is actually good at drawing assured me that it wasn't just me and that the Superman logo is harder to draw than it looks. That bar of fabric attached to the S was just glaring at me. And I couldn't just cut it away because the logo wouldn't lay flat if I did. My mom liked the logo and had helped me draw it out, so I ended up giving the botched logo to her. I bought more fleece and used the cut out pieces to redo the logo. It came out right this time. As soon as it's done I'm posting it here on Craftster, but on one of the non-screw up boards. Smiley

when I need to cut out something like that (lately I've done a dragon and a horse for "poodle" skirts), I download a picture off the internet, blow it up to the size I want, print it and use that as a template.  Still tricky cutting, but takes less drawing skill.
