Of human bondage pants: an epic of deconstruction

Why these jeans came about....
1. because of a strange fascination with the human heart
2. because i love punk rock
3. it was a brainchild of an assignment i had for one of my numerous art classes
4. i'm kind of tired of people that call themselves punk and don't follow the #1 punk rock ethic: Do it yourself.

so basically i took a pair of jeans and painted a human heart on the thigh using watered down acrylic paint.  i then cut it out and re-attached it with saftey pins. i used other safety pins to construct the bondage straps on the back.

I hate the whole Hot Topic/manufactured punk thing, too.  It drives me absolutely insane. 
Those pants kill!  How many safety pins did it take to make the straps?

OMG I AGREE!! this world is full of wannabe punk rockers who THINK they kno punk becuz they wear all black and some studs! it bugs me to no end! but i love those pants....very original good job

I love the bondage pants! I've had my fair share of rants over manufactured images (mostly goth and punk) I hate how kids can just go to a store and think they are "punk" or "goth" because they spent over $200 at hot topic on shoddy clothes.... but that's got nothing to do with the pants...

600 safety pins? Wow! Did you clamp them shut? I tend to forget and end up with a safety pin stuck in my thigh or what-not. The pants are awesome!

they aren't clamped. i just try very hard to not sit on them

I live on the beach and it cracks me up these rich doctors kids who act like they never get what they want and they cry to themselves listening to Hawthorne heights or something in they're daddies mustang. yet they make fun or my bleached out painted jeans.  who knows maybe someday they'll see the real world. (Or maybe its us who doesn't see it) oh I'm thinking too hard for this late at night.
I love the pants especially the heart. And I am just in awe of the bravery required to wear them. (stabbing ones self with pins strikes too much fear into my little sole.

I have a friend who thought she was *so punk* until I told her that if she was really punk, 1) she wouldn't claim to be, 2) she wouldn't listen to Fall Out Boy, and 3) she wouldn't be disgusted by thrift stores, too lazy to make something for herself, and willing to spend $200 of her mom's money at Hot Topic. So yeah, now she thinks she's emo instead. *laughs*

I'm definitely not punk, but I appreciate what you've done. I especially like the heart on the leg.

Those are very cool (and i'm not really keen on bondage clothing myself). I also like that you've used a real heart rather than one of those pathetic emo girly ones. It's a very nice touch
