I was surprised how much choice I had at my local thrift store. I wanted to pick something truly horrible and I finally settled on a painting of a reclining nude man:

It was way overpriced (in my opinion anyway) at $4.99, but I just loved how the artist used a canvas board that was partially sawed through with holes drilled

And best of all was not that the hands and feet were mere suggestions, but that the flabby bits at the waist-line were lovingly detailed.

I used some flowers leftover from the Easter Hat, paper from my paper scraps boxes, fold leaved leftover from Christmas decorations, and Santa beard curls.

The painting reminded me of someone realaxing while looking at something in the sky. So I started by adding a mattress-like white foundation for the guy to lie on and then I added some brown paper to the bottom of the board.

I covered the bottom of the board with green leaves then added a few gold leaves on the white mattress thingy.

For the sky I stuck on ripped pieces of blue, black and blue/bold paper. I added some Santa beard curls for clouds and stuck a red tomato cut-out in the sky to give him something to look at.

Then I glued on some flowers to really tart it up.

That really reminds me of Jason Webley. He's a singer/songwriter/guitarist/accordian player, and he's got a weird thing about tomatoes. This piece looks like it could be art on his CD.

LOOKING FOR A PERSONAL SWAP: I'm hoping for dinosaur-themed Xmas crackers, or other dinosaur Xmas items. I can make a Jayne Cobb hat, or many other things!
