Thanks for the kind words everyone.

As for flamability, my father-in-law said the same thing.  Shocked  I don't think the picture or the shells have a flash-point which can be attained with a lightbulb. As for the oats, it may be ok if you use a low watt bulb, a flourescent bulb, or a light source with low heat output. I haven't researched it, but you may also be able to get the plants pretreated with a flame-retardant.
