ok well i love taking pictures.  i took this picture of a statue of mickey mouse and i loved the picture so much.  I took the picture, and using my photo editing software tinted the photo into 4 different colors.  i framed it in a simple black frame.  i literally did it in 15 minutes.... so simple and easy.   im going for the "u can buy this in a store" look.

Here is a link that takes u DIRECTLY to the picture

That is really fun.

I've done something in the same style, but mine is made from handmade ... print works? ... I don't know how you call that. I made a Bob Marley rubber stencil and then you use a paint roller on the stencil and copy it as many times as you want. Here's a pic of my project (the pic quality sucks)

That is really cool!  I like the simplicity of the whole look!  I hope I can find a cool picture to do that to as well!

yes! there was a whole bunch of them like ex" halloween mickey".  i used the picture of the silver mickey because i thought it would work best with the color tinting.

did you see the elton john mickey? that one was way awesome! I tried to do what you said but then realized that I didn't really have the best software So I couldn't get the same four colors

I want to frame this now it looks so cool and way more interesting than the black and white original I took. Thanks so much for the idea I shall now use it frequently
oh and i had to come back because i forgot to say that another super fun thing to do is to turn the background of pictures to a negative while leaving the people (or whatever you want) positive. It looks very cool and I'd like to post an example of that but i don't think my friends in the picture would be too happy with me

I did a similar thing with a picture of my friend and I for her b-day. It really was a crap picture, but was the only one I had of the two of us, so instead of just framing the crap picture I scanned it and coloured it with the four different colours and gave her that.
Its still on her dresser so I'm guessing she liked it. Smiley

I can't see it, but Piratestooges' is awesome! It also looks good if you have Photoshop and you do the pictures in duotone instead of just colorizing them.

I LOVE IT! I've used movie posters in the past and sometimes scanned wicked record sleeves.  I am SOSOSOSOSOSO in love with the Bob Marley print.  I think I might marry it.
