So I've picked this up again after a few months of dormancy and am remembering how much I love the lace pattern!

One question -- for the body of the bag it says for rows 1 - 4 to knit, and then proceed to the lace pattern until row 37 (for the handbag).

Then you do the bottom and back up for the second side.

Here it says to do 37 rows of lace and then 4 rows garter stitch.

is it just me or are the sides uneven  Huh

One side has 4 garter rows and 33 lace rows, the other has 37 lace rows and 4 garter rows.

I'm confused. . . But love the bag and the pattern!  Grin

I really really really would love to have Interweave Knits Spring 2007 for those Eunny Chang entrelac socks. . . Does anyone want to swap for it?! I have yarn, I can sew, embroider, knit.

OOps..    it IS a BIG BAD typo... !!! So here's the   CORRECTION:

In the "body of the bag" section, right after the seed stitch section it should read

Next, work 33 (53)   rows in lace pattern      ( instead of 37/57).

SOOO sorry about that, and thanks so much for letting us know about it..!!

I'll be emailing the corrected pdf tonight to all the people who bought the pattern before today. I have sent the corrected pattern to all the people who bought the pattern. Got a few failed delivery though, so if you haven't received yours, please contact me at sylvie@chezplum.com

Hey All! I'm new here but I've been knitting for about 3 years now. I made the smaller Isabeau purse and when I realized it was WAY too small for my taste (it would hold my wallet and maybe my cell but I would probably leave it somewhere). Luckily my mommy bought me the tote/handbag pattern for my bday (thursday, yay!) and so I'm working on it now. I'm using Lavendar colored simply soft. It's a gorgeous soft color with a slight hint of shimmer. I'm only about 2 inches into the lace part but I will post pics when I get farther along.

OK, maybe it's because I was trying to start this late at night, but row 5 of the tote makes no sense to me. What does 5LR mean? That I'm supposed to do the lace repeat 5 times? But then the *rest* of line 5 would lead to far more than 58 stitches.  Huh

[Minor grumble: the non-standard knitting abbreviations are a bit annoying. skp reads "slip, knit, purl" to most English-speaking knitters, but here it's meant for "s k psso".  Undecided ]
