I've just been to a few smallish craft shows, but it seems there is a craft show advertised in St. Charles every 3 or 4 months.  Also, I know SIUE used to have a show in the University Center every November, and I've been to a large craft show at Triad H.S. in Troy before.

As far as stores, there are a couple of Coomer's Craft Malls in the area (next to St. Clair Square in Fairview Hgts. and in South County, MO, same plaza as K-Mart).

As far as actual craft stores for supplies here are a few I like:

Michaels (Fairview Hgts.)
Hobby Lobby (Fairview Hgts.)
Garden Ridge (Fairview Hgts.)
Ben Franklin (Belleville & also on Tesson Ferry in South Co. Mo.  It has a TON of beading supplies)
Schnider's Hobby Center (on Gravois in Sunset Hills, MO.)

wonderful

I've been to all of those stores except for the Coomer's craft mall.  I've never been in it, but passed it several times..  Is it worth the stop?

There is a bead store in Glen Carbon... A&A Beads...I believe the name is... right next to Blockbuster. Firemountaingems.com has the best prices from what I have found though. Where you guys from? I just moved to Collinsville from Maryville. I'm a local artist trying to make a name for my jewelry. Been really good so far... but the local coverage is harder. Check out my site...

hey i know you! lol well sort of. i'm in the same area - i work at a Great Clips and one of your cards ended up on my front desk, i checked out your site and you have some pretty cool stuff.

out of all the locations listed for good craft stuff, my favorites are the flea market in belleville [every third weekend of the month]. i always come home with a few usefull things..and then some. great vintage buttons at low cost if you look hard enough. Coomers used to be pretty neat back a few years ago, but my mother and i stoped going because it seemed a lot of the crafters stoped renting their booths, it could be different now though - i'll have to check back into it.

HI, I'm in your neighborhood.  I live about an hour from Fairview.
I can't even find any shops that would suite my taste to sell my wares.  I thought University City would have something.  I haven't found it yet.
OOhh well.
 Nice to meet you all.

Hello! I had to jump in here, I'm in O'Fallon. I think my absolute fav craft store is Hobby Lobby in Fairview. They have an awesome selection of beads and I love thier fabric too. (Wait for sales though if ya can, beads go half off once a month!)There is a new bead store that just opened on 159 that I haven't been too but it's much closer than A&A Beads when I want somethin special. I have to purchase a lot of fine art supplies for my mural business and try to buy locally from Dick Blick when I can, but they don't keep a lot of my supplies in stock so I usually go online for paint and the like.

If anyone lives near me and also does fine arts besides craft, I help organize an interactive art festival that takes place in October. Basically, You give mini art classes to groups of kids in whatever medium and project you'd like, and you also get to sell your stuff. We provide the tent and tables, you pay $25. Reply or PM me if you are interested and would like more details  Smiley!

There is another bead shop in Edwardsville. I think it's called Bead it. It's located on Main street. Also on Main is a yarn shop, Knit One Weave Too.

just thought I would put my 2cents in, I live in belleville. As for places to sell your crafts believeit or not I sell the most and make the most money at the flea market in down town belleville. There are a few place to buy your beading supplies if that is what you are into. There is Big Time Beads in belleville, and The Bead Place in swansea. My absolute faveorite place to go for beading supplies has to be The Bead Store in st louis.
