Hi all! For my book, I had to give away just about every one of the projects in it to the publisher for publicity purposes. Sad But that gives me an excuse to make some incarnations of the projects to keep for myself! Grin

I made this version of the popsicle stick purse to take with me on book signings and to make me happy by keeping on a shelf in my office. I love making these because you can decorate them in so many interesting ways.

Hooray for sparkly pink and green pom poms!

Who can resist those adorable little mushroom birds you see in craft stores?! Not me! Especially when they come in fluorescent pink and green!

That handle totally rocks!

Thanks! I must say that I love the idea of pom poms as a purse handle in general. It would look great in less garrish colors too. I strung those pom poms onto wire but I bet you could string them onto really durable thread or a quadrupled up piece of thread of something for a more flexible handle.

*jealous!* Sad  We had thought about driving there from Ohio, but don't think we will be able to with a vacation near that time & the cost of stinkin' gas money.  We need a thread on crafty ways to make gas, LOL!

You could still do this! There are so many different shapes that popsicle stick purses can have. Or maybe you could make some other structure out of popsicle sticks? Smiley

I love these little purses and am in the process of making one. I was wondering, however, just how sturdy are they? Does the glue really hold up that well?

I like both of yours -- from the book and the one posted here. Too bad you didn't get to keep the original.

I just got my book today and was showing it to a friend and she had another great popsicle idea. She said she wants to make a twisting popsicle stick tower into a long floor lamp, maybe with a strand of christmas lights in the center so the light comes out all of the little slits.   I thought it was a clever idea and thought I'd share it with you all.
