I have this gorgeous black cotton halter dress and its very formal but i was to wear it to school and such....any ideas?

yeah that is an awesome dress.  Maybe you could just add some funky trim, or a patch/applique type thing?  I agree with classyrockchic7, there are a ton of things you could do..

If I were you, I'd be daring and cut up the front + repin it so it's a unique fit. Idk how exactly you can do it, since it's more of a do than describe thing, but try it! You could also cut the top/straps off and sew funky colored straps or ribbon on instead, ruch the whole thing into a cute little shirt, or just play it safe and add some bows and buttons. Maybe a multicolored zipper in front? Some pockets or a playful, silky handkerchief hem would be nice too Smiley
