So I got this idea a while back in ReadyMade and around Christmas time I got a lamp kit on sale at Hobby Lobby... soo when I found out that my partener in the crafty Detective swap liked gun themed things I sprung on the oppertunity to make this lamp! I used the lamp kit, two cheap toy squirt guns, a wooden dowel and wooden square, and tons of hot glue and spray paint!

I hollowed the guns out with my dad's drill and cracked them open down one side to run the dowel and cord through... then super glued them and clamped them until they dried...
I wanted to stencil a sweet gun shade so I bought a plain white one at Wal-mart and attempted my first spray paint stencil... it came out a bit blury... anyway here it is; the finished lamp!

I almost kept it for myself, but alas! I'll just have to make another one!!

That's great! You know, you are right on trend too...I read in a magazine that gun motifs are hot right now in the design world. Your rendition is stellar and wonderfully more affordable.  And I admire your savvy with the lamp kit, I'm so intimidated by those, but really want to put one to good use.

I love it, and it's funny, when I saw the title, I was planning to ask if you got the idea from ReadyMade.

I like the blurred stencil effect.  It gives it a kind of urban/graffiti feel.  Cool project!
