hey everyone,

i'm a spokane crafter too. i basically grew up in cheney. i just finished EWU (well, two weeks left, technically). i work downtown and live in the val. i used to sew quite a bit. i've never knitted but my mom loves it. i like jewelry making though i've never sold anything. i'm interested in learning resin techniques and more complex jewelry methods. i would like to try bookmaking. i love stenciling. i basically try whatever looks feasible to me. if i look at it and think, "i could make that", i'll give it a try.

also, just to throw it out there, i'm looking to move by september 1st into a nice unique apartment (small complex in normal neighborhood, possibly historic) or a duplex/triplex with some character. if anyone knows of anything, send a pm my way Smiley i'm not interested in too far north (like, northtown is too far north for me) but i would live on the s hill, in browne's, valley...i'm basically open but i'd like to still be accessible to downtown.

I know there is always places in browns and on the s hill, i just helped my best friend and boy friend move into an awsome appt in browns. lol as long as your not looking for a 3 bedroom, but lots of two and one bedrooms in both places.

i do alot of sewing and knitting and spinning. but the resin thing has always intriged me! my mom and my aunt and i are gonna sit down one of thse days and figure out how.

littlemissparasite, you should let me know how it turns out if you do. i'm interested to see. i don't know if there's anywhere local that sells resin supplies. i looked at michael's and was sorely disappointed (they didn't have ONE thing i was looking for!) but i have done a little research on the internet for supplies. a bracelet mold is under $5. the resin 2-step process is about $15-20 for 20-32 oz (depends the brand and where you buy from). i believe one would also need some mixing cups (i assume paper will not work) and i'd probably get some old coffee mugs/teacups/etc from value village. no sense in buying more plastic.

so whereabouts in spokane is everyone? is anyone still active on this thread? any EWU students? i will be for about two more weeks.

Another Spokanite here!  I live in North Spokane.  It does not look like anyone has posted in awhile but I would be very interested in meeting up with people.  I love pretty much all crafts but lately I have been into sewing and jewelry making.

maybe if people were game, we could do a tutorial workshop. meet somewhere neutral and each week (month?) someone teaches us all something. like, for example, i've been making soy candles and maybe we could meet to learn soy candles one week (month) and then the next time, someone else "teaches".

i don't really know where we could meet but i just thought it might be a fun idea!
