Thanx yall! (umheried, I love your Angel avvy too...yum.)

New arrival! Short story of his creation: at work they started a 'motivation' program called Fish. The idea is if you do a good job, anybody else can give you a Fish card to wear with your name badge. Pretty straightforward, right? Except NOT. The person who runs the program is an egotistical jerk brownnosing the big bosses, and has pitched a fit at least 2 times wanting to take back cards someone other than she gave out. Soo, a friend of mine made up an 'alternative' card with a shark on it. A bunch of us wore those & had a good laugh, till the administration saw them & TOOK THEM UP. I mean it. Like we are kindergarteners. (insert ARGH here)

Well, before, it was a joke. Now, it's principle. Shark stuff is springing up all over. Shark key rings, pens, can cozies, etc. And for the friend who started the whole thing...a semi-amigurumi shark, made by me, adapted from a dolphin I found online.

Subversive crochet is a beautiful thing.  Cheesy

Wow, those are all great! I've only ever finished a little turtle as a gift for a friend, and I have an unfinished monkey abandoned in my closet. Sad

I love the shark!  Great job!  I also love subversive crochet, as well as cross-stitch.  I have made a few little plastic canvas ones that are up at my cubicle (I <3 my job, Don't make me cut you {so admired that it was stolen}, kiss my grits, etc).  Maybe a "Long Live Shark" or "Sharks Rule!" one would be in order for your work?

Here's the dolphin I started from.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/we2/dolphin.html

I modified the top & side fins to make them pointier and 'sharkier' looking, and omitted the bottle nose (I think I started about row 4 or 5 on both body halves). Also, instead of working the tail as the last row of the body halves, I worked it separately and attached it after, since dolphins tails are horizontal but sharks go vertical.

The mouth is red felt and I stitched the teeth in with white yarn.

Just Simply Soft, cheap and easy to use.

LOL Angry Angel! I just noticed your livejournal. (waves to another hellcat)

:)wowee! such a great story--- a storyline for that show Thee Office--- the American rip off of the Brit show.... I digress, your shark is wundebah and it gives me a wierd kind of hope for us all that we can still create despite our soul numbing/dumbing labors. Thanks for sharing!!!!!!
