MEERKAT

Brown, cream & black worsted yarn, black beads, size F hook

Bodybrown
1ch 2, sc 6 into 2nd ch: 6 st
2sc 1, inc 1 to end: 9 sc
3sc 2, inc 1: 12 sc
4sc 3, inc 1: 15 sc
5-8sc around
This is his headit should be about 1 3/4 long by this point.
9sc 3, sc 2tog: 12 sc
10-11sc around
This is his neck. Stuff head & neck.
12sc 3, inc 1: 15 sc
Sc around till meer is about 5 tall
Sc 3, sc 2tog: 12 sc
Sc 2tog around: 6 sc. Stuff.
Sc 2tog & close.

Bellycream
Ch about 2 long
Sc up 1 side
3 sc in last ch
Sc down the other side.
Sl st in 1st sc.

Arms, legs and snoutbrown
1ch2, 6 sc in 2nd ch: 6 sc
2-4sc around, finish off.
(feel free to make the snout smaller, shorter, or whatever suits you)

Earsblack
1ch2, 6 sc in 2nd ch: 6 sc
Finish. I wish I had made mine a little smaller, so again do what suits you.

Tailbrown
1ch7, sc 6 down, ch1, turn: 6 sc
2-3sc 6, ch1, turn: 6 sc
4*sc1, sc 2tog* repeat, ch1, turn: 4 sc
5-6sc across, ch1, turn: 4 sc
7sc, sc 2tog, sc, ch1, turn: 3 sc
8sc, sc 2tog, ch1, turn: 2 sc
9sc2, ch1, turn: 2 sc
10sc 2tog, finish.

Assemble as shown. Fold tail in half lengthwise to sew to his bottom. Add eyes and nose.

At last, a new arrival!  Cheesy This rascally little fellow is a gift for a dear friend's birthday--he looks a lot like her RL pet.



I found the pattern here at craftster, but for the life of me I can't locate it right now...search won't bring it up. I will try again later when I have more time.  Sad

Here is Mississippi we call them crawfish and crawdads (sometimes crawdaddies)
But we cook them and eat them like they are going out of style  Grin
Your is so CUTE!!!
I need to make a few for friends before crawfish season so I will have them at the next big cook out Wink

Your ami are so cute!  Where did you get the penguin pattern, and what kind of yarn is the rainbow bear made from? It's so cool!  (And I'm going to have to make a crawdad/crayfish/crawfish as the kids found some in the local stream over the summer. Thanks for the pattern!)

The bear is made from Red Heart yarn, colorway Mexicana.
