I have been nominated to make door prizes for a friend's party.  She is raising money for some animal related cause (such a wonderful gal).  I made 2 dog blankets and have to get catnip for some cat sushi.  I wanted a few more cat items and maybe one or two more dog items.  I knit and sew.  I have to send them off in 2 weeks.  Any great ideas???

What about one of those tickler type thingys that cats love?  You could wrap a wooden dowel with ribbon or colored duct tape and put feathers and ribbon and pretty things on the end.  They sell them in pet stores and places.  You could just make a prettier one.  Also, cats like crackly sounding things, so you could make little fabric pillows filled with crackly paper or plastic.

I keep seeing those dog toys made out of fleece. They are six strips braided into a handle with a knot and a tennis ball over the knot. Here's a pic of one without the tennis ball to give you an idea.

Also there are the stuffed fleece men. You can make them in any size with or without squeaker. I've seen them made out of that fuzzy sherpa fleece. And you can make them small for little dogs, and smaller with catnip for the kitties.
