I am just starting to get a feel for sewing and am making an apron. That is turning out to be somewhat of a disaster (I read the pattern wrong and now have extra "wrong" fabric), so I thought of making my parent's dog (pug/boston terrier) a cheerleading skirt since the fabric is green and white gingham, which are my little brother's school colors.

Does anyone know anywhere I could find a good tutorial for this? I tried searching the board for "cheerleader skirt" but didn't really find any to my liking. Most of what I found were miniskirts that had pleats on the side and were more trendy/junior's apparel than actual cheerleading-looking skirts.
