OH My Goodness!  I've showed this to my hubby and I can't stop looking at it!

It's fabulous!!!!    I would have bought it just for the story on the back but what you've done to it ROCKS!!!!  I LOVE IT!!!!

By the way your daughter has a great name too!

Somebody just told me your daughters name is a SCREENAME!  Oh DOH!!!  How stupid do I feel.  The thing is I would probably call one of my kids Banana!  So I STILL think it's a great name! LOL

I got curious as to just who Hollis Gentry was and this is what I found:

San Diego's finest jazz artist, Hollis Gentry's Neon, returns as headliner making this his 7th year performing for four local Imperial Beach charities on Saturday, May 20. His talent was realized in 1973 when Barry White recognized his unique musical gift and invited him to join the "Love Unlimited Orchestra" on a world tour. After that, he completed his bachelor's of arts degree. He's joined forces with Al Jerreau, Phillip Bailey, David Benoit and Fattburger to name a few. 

What could this painting have brought in auction....me thinks Nanny Beatrice would have wondered too

I think you did a wonderful job working with the painting.  If my paintings ended up in a thrift store and someone like you and your daughter came along and embellished them rather than painting over them, I think I would be happy.  It's a nice homage piece.
