That is such a great idea. Wish my local thrift stores had stuff like that!

oh my gosh that is so hilarious!! I was really intrigued when reading the story on the back and then I saw what you did to it and I was literally laughing out loud.  Oh wow...thats amazing!!

The artist may have painted in a childlike manner, but if you look at the handwriting and read what is written on the back, it was obviously painted by an adult. If one of my family members had painted this, I would have kept it. Obviously the artist's family is not quite as sentimental. You have to remember that I found this in a thrift store. For $1.98.

I personally think it's kind of cool that we brought Nanny B. to life. (I did have a little pang about messing with someone else's original, though. Just for a moment...)

If it was at a THRIFT store, it was on its way to being thrown out.  rackycoo and bananambush brought it to new life and so many more people have enjoyed it AND the story than they would have if it were in the garbage!!!  Long live Nanny Beatrice!!!

It's such an enormous improvement, and by tweaking it a bit, it's brought joy to so many more people than it would've just sitting on the shelf in the thrifty.

I love Nanny Beatrice Grace.  Hmm......I think that would make a great t-shirt....... Grin

For a simple woman from rural Georgia, she sure has a huge fanclub now! I feel like I learned about an area of the country I never would've experienced firsthand, and a family that obviously meant a lot to one another. And got tremendous enjoyment out of the art! Hurrah for Nanny B, Racky, and Banana!

it probably would have been thrown out, but it's been brought back to life and the story of nanny beatrice grace has been shared with so many people (who have turned into adoring fans).  i love it.  hands up strate in the air for nanny beatrice grace!

That is hilarious, I think my favorite part (besides Nanny Beatrice) is the cat next to her. Fantastic!
