Here's a template and tutorial for an iPod cover, made from paper and sticky backed plastic. It's for the 3rd generation iPod (i.e. the one prior to the video ones). Sorry if it's already obsolete/hard to understand/useless.

It has a paper base, sticky backed plastic (or tape) outer, a plastic protected screen window and scroll wheel hole.

It's kind of similar to happybeenz's funky starburst ipod case and heatherxxll's iPod packing tape/paper cozy.

I LOVE THAT PAPER!!!
Too bad I have a Creative Zen Micro, or I would make this right now >_<;; But I need to make a template!
How did you make your template? Is it the front, back, and side measurements plus some on the bottom and top? How exactly did you make it??
That is sooo cute!

The cover is actually sticky backed plastic. It's from the bargain bins of a local fabric shop -- sorry I can't be more helpful!

I made the template by wrapping the player in greaseproof paper (the cheap person's substitute for tracing paper) and marking on in pencil where the joins and windows are. Undo the greaseproof paper, cut out the outline and trace onto a piece of paper to get the template. Hope that helps!
