Made this skirt the other day.  Have taken a break from making purses and have taken up making clothes like it's no one's business.  I love these style of skirts that come just below the knee.  Got the fabric for really good price (my favorite fabricland where my friend works lost it's lease - BOO!  But it means all of the fabric is 50-70% off - YAY!)

I felt like a 50s housewife wearing it, so i thought the vacuum and martini paired were a nice touch.  When i asked my boyfriend to take the pic, he made bad jokes about me not knowing how to even use the vacuum.  Ha ha, i explained that i am a modern housewife:  I have a job, like crafting, cooking, politics and not cleaning.  Anyways, here it is:

I lined the skirt and added three layers of lace that i got for 10 cents a meter.  It peeks out of the bottom of the skirt and when i sit you see the multiple layers of lace.

It ripples really cute in the back.  I used simplicity's 4591 pattern.  It has a zipper dowm the side with a hook and eye at the top.  I had a lot of problems with the sizing, which i rarely do with simplicity patterns.  I had to take it in 2 inches on both sides!!  It was an ego booster, but a pain nonetheless.

Feedback and questions appreciated!  Cheesy

Thanks.  I had a meeting with the sr admin at the college i attend the other day.  One of the women was wearing a skirt like mine and she paid $150!  Mine only cost like $15 to make and looked way nicer.  She asked me where i bought mine Roll Eyes Hehe if only she knew!!

I LOVE that pose -- so freakin awesome!   Cheesy

And easy skirts (A-line all the way, baby!) rock my world in the summer.  The best thing that ever happened to me was the perfect skirt pattern.

Great job!
