I received today from red_willow. She send me a one project bag for my knitting and I love it. The colors are awesome, and the lace adds such a nice Regency touch. She also send me two skeins of beautiful hand spun yarn (one is alpaca and I think the other is lamb's wool). I've never used hand spun yarn and I am so excited to try it! Smiley The last item is a silk scarf like Elizabeth Bennet wore when she arrives home and sees Jane after finding out that Lydia ran off with Wickham.

Thanks so much Red Willow! I LOVE IT ALL Cheesy

The good thing about recieving before you send is that you know what you're up against!  Wink
I recieved from IQJones, yesterday and I know it's terribly unfair to be posting the best swap package so early on, so be it!

I was leaving for the postoffice, saturday afternoon, when lo, I noticed a package sticking out of my mailbox.  I knew what it was.   Smiley

  Inside, I found this

Lizzy and Mr. Darcy over the years

The Golden Temple with a shrinky dinked dance scene from Bride & Prejudice

Speaks for itself

a journal with a shrinky dinked Emma and Mr. Knightly

some seals and stationary

I had mentioned to IQ that I had a very sad copy of P&P, which I had taken everywhere, and which had been taped up for it's protection

So she made it a jacket!

And just for good measure, she threw in:

I got a great partner!!!  Thank you!  I had fun!

Because Poe wrote on both of them.

Anyone up for a Jasper Fforde swap?

Great stuff! I didn't even know you could do that with shrinky dinks.

red_willow let me know she received, but she has been really busy. I only took pics of a few of the things I made, but I will try to post them later.

kristi

Edited to add:

I learned to embroider for this swap and now I am hooked. Here are two handkerchiefts I embroidered for red_willow. One has her initial on it.

Unfortunately I forgot to take pics of the following items because I was so excited to send my package out.  I made a wooden box (that looked like a book) covered with pics and decoupage glue. I put pictures of Darcy and Lizzie from the BBC production of Pride and Prejudice on it. It was hard to part with! I made coasters with movie pics from Emma, Pride and Prejudice, Persuasion, and Sense and Sensibility on them as well. They were covered in resin to be waterproof. And the last thing I made was a reticule, but it turned out looking kind of like a gift bag.

All in all a very fun swap! I really enjoyed making things for this and it inspired me to learn new things.

I am floored by the amazing package I received today, containing:

Shrinky dinks are amazing.
For these projects, I used the kind you print on (any ink-jet printer).
If you go to the Shrinky Dink website they have all kinds of options.
Warning: they are addictive!

ctgirl received from me, so here are my pictures of what I sent.  They kinda suck, so maybe ctgirl will have better ones.

Magnets and a Jane Austen marble charm:

A photo frame, a votive holder, and a trinket box with Colin Firth as Darcy on it:

A "What would Jane Austen do?" shirt (first the front, then the back):

I LOVE that WWJAD shirt!!!!!!

Thanks!  ctgirl said she liked the shirt a lot.  I really enjoyed making this stuff for the swap, especially since ctgirl and I have reasonably aligned tastes.

Quincy134-Thank you so much for posting pictures.  I was just going to do that and saw that you had beat me to it.  So sorry that I have been so absent from this thread.  One of my kitties passed away this past week, and I haven't had motivation for anything.  But recieiving your package really brightened my day!!!!  I am wearing my "WWJAD" tshirt today and I love it!

I sent my package out on Sat. but looking at everyone else's has given me serious swap anxiety!  Everyone has made such amazing stuff!

Everyone has received.  Thank you all for a flake-free swap!  I will be leaving positive feedback for everyone soon.

Everyone did a great job, and sent so promptly.

And I got an amazing package from ctgirl today!  Pics are forthcoming.

I was studying for my final exams today (this week is almost making me regret the decision to pursue a phD), when I saw that I had received a package!  Inside, I found these amazing swap goodies from ctgirl:

-A very yummy P+P (2005) tote
-Notecards with humorous JA quotations on them
-JA stitch markers
-a tshirt with Jeremy Northam (swoon) as Mr. Knightley on it

Thank you sooooooo much, ctgirl!
