Thanks to all for the compliments.  And for those of you who have never been to the Oregon Coast, it's kind of like an untouched goldmine.  Oregon's beauty is astounding.
I moved here from Ohio just 6 months ago, and it's so green and blue here!  I don't think I will ever regret the move or ever move back to the Midwest again...... (even though sometimes I miss my mom!)

Such great packages so far! The felt heart is cute!

PinkyK is a superstar and sent my parcel UPS - I just clicked the tracking link and it's arrived on English soil! It was scanned at East Midland Airport about an hour ago, so I should get it in the morning (its 10pm here) I've never had a package that was traced along it's journey before, it's so exciting!! it's fun to watch, when they actually update the info.

i too would have a kickin package to send, if there were a round 2. our city is a dying little place but there are people who think it's the greatest place on earth, so we have lots of fun tourist-y things.

It's here! And boy what a package! Thank you so much PinkyK you are a fantastic swap partner.

First, the most amazingly well made REVERSIBLE beach bag (so useful -this will definitely be coming with me on my summer hols!), Quaker grits - I have never seen these before but Pinky tells me it is best made with butter and cheese which sounds gorgeous, I plan to make it for dinner at the weekend!, some very cool pencils, and two beatiful charm bracelets; a garnet and gold Florida State Uni (FSU) one and a Tallahassee themed one.

Close ups of the bracelets:

Next, the Tallahassee magazine, a 'Creature from the Black Lagoon' journal (the movie was filmed nearby!), organic Florida sugar which is the most gorgeous colour, not bone-white like the sugar here, and proper iced tea mix, which I am way excited about as I love tea and you can't get good iced tea over here.

Next, a local newspaper (YAY! I love reading about stuff that's happening somewhere totally different to where I am), a FSU folder with loads of stickers, faux tattoos and a guide to everything in my parcel.

And finally, a fantastic selection of postcards with all kinds of local things on! I now want to go visit Tallahassee so much! If I start saving for the airfare now I might just make it there in five yrs  Cheesy

P.S. Please excuse the cat, she came bounding in when she heard me opening the package and I had to shoo her off my things so she is looking up at me angrily!

YEAH!!!! I am so psyched rosali got her stuff!!

Who else thinks it is funny that she is going to be eating cheese grits and sweet tea in the UK tonight!?! Talk about a Tallahassee delicacy!  I actually do not like grits unless they have a TON of cheese and butter. But people here LOVE them so I figured they were a good thing to send. People here eat grits with every meal and drink sweet iced tea by the gallon!  One and one half cups of sugar to a quart of tea. Actually that is a bit too sweet for me and I drink what I call a "Tallahassee Black and Tan" which is half sweet and half unsweet tea. But most drink it straight sweet over ice with  lemon.

The tote just said Florida to me. Tallahassee isn't beachy at all. We have rolling hills and HUGE live oak trees with Spanish moss. But we do have lots of lakes and some palm trees and lazy rivers. We also have tons of flowers in the spring time so the tote was appropriate.

Mostly,Tallahassee is either politics or FSU football. I included a bit about being the state capitol and some FSU stuff. On the political side the yellow pencil is from the Florida Center for Political History and Governance. That is where all of the hanging and dimpled chads from the 2000 presidential election are housed and on display.

The dolphin pen I included because in front of the capitol building is this really cool dolphin fountain sculpture made out of recycled beer cans. It was donated by Busch Family. That's Busch with a c so it's the beer family not the Political family they're Bush without a c, and he's governor here. Anyway, it's really cool it's a bunch of huge shiny silver frolicking dolphin made out of old beer cans. Kind of fitting for a college/political town with a serious football habit.

The Tallahassee Magazine is a subscription came with my house. So many ads for plastic surgery. It is scary. So many ads for Vera Bradley products. Her stuff is HUGE in Tallahassee. I don't get it. Probably, because like all of you, I can make most of her products it in an afternoon and it won't cost me $200+ for a small purse! There is a good article for Chinese adoption in that edition. I actually know the family that is featured, which is rare for me to know anyone! I used to work with the mom. They are really great people.

But that about sums up Tallahassee! I'm glad you like your stuff! Enjoy the sweet tea and don't feel bad if you think grits are weird!
