My first ever go at stencilling  Smiley . I designed it myself on Photoshop, printed it out and cut it out using a craft knife and some plastic sheet stuff  Huh
It took me about 1 - 1 1/2 hours to cut out completely. Was very complicated. I bought the top and painted the design on with a sponge and paint  Cheesy probably not the best method but it was all I had at the time and it seemed to work out ok... the stars are fading though  Cry . I made this a few weeks ago and only just decided to upload it.
Err...sorry this pictures quality is quite...bleh  Tongue

Close up of the design...

The Stencil...

My second go at stencilling. I have a thing for doing complicated stuff for my first/second tries at things ^^,'
My favourite band, The Clash  Grin
I used a picture from their site (www.westwaytothewor ld.com) and stylised the picture to take it down to 2 colours on Photoshop
(Image >>Adjustments >>Desaturate.
Image >>Adjustments >>Brightness/Contrast)
Printed it out and cut it out using a craft knife and plastic sheet stuff  Huh
This is a 2 layered stencil, I first put a white base coat for the image on, then put the black part of the image overtop, using a sponge for both^o^.

The top...

Close up...

Back...

The stencil (I appear to have lost the one for the writing 'The Clash' and the names on the back  Cry )...

I've had alot of positive comments from people, and alot of people thought I bought both tops with the designs on them and everything  Cheesy

Was the knife you used kind of like a pencil but with a sharp pointy blade on the end?  The generic name is craft or hobby knife, but almost everyone calls them x-acto knives.  Kinda like calling all copiers "Xerox" machines or all facial tissue "Kleenex".

My knife is an Excel Hobby knife like this: http://www.widgetsupply.com/page/WS/PROD/excel-hobby-knife-handles/BEO13
I love it something fierce.  Gotta love the grippyness.  <3  I got it at Hobby Lobby.

My first stencil, I did one little music note and it was a PAIN to cut out. and they weren't islands or anything! Just one big bold thing.
