Third Butterfly - check!

I have yarn for a minimum of 6 Butterfly camisoles and love the crap out of the pattern, so I've been finding excuses to make more of them.


The first, of course, was for me.




And then my friend's birthday was looming and she loved my Butterfly, so next was one for her.




Realizing that I could crank one of these out in a couple of weeks, I decided that my mother, my own personal butterfly, needed one of these for Her birthday, and so the third Butterfly was born.









My mother is one of those classic redheads that actually looks fabulous in oranges and browns and greens. She already owns plenty of green and brown, so a sunset sort of colour was the obvious choice. I was kind of bored with single colours, however, so I threw some vivid pumpkin in there as well. That turned out to be a bit Too vivid, which led to the idea of the double-stranded frill and picot edging. I also like that double-stranding the straps made them a bit sturdier.

I haven't seen this done as a shirt before, always a dress. I like it as a shirt a lot better! All three are really great.

So beautiful! I love this pattern so much. I really want to make the dress for myself and as the camisole for my little sister, but the book is so expensive for only one pattern. I'm hoping to find someone getting rid of it for a lower price. If I don't, I am definitely going to have to break down and just buy it. All of yours came out so well! And you are very beautiful, too!

Gorgeous!  For my tastes I especially like 'yours', the colour is beautiful.

Can I ask a couple of questions?  Did you use the KSH, or sub the yarn?  And roughly how much yarn (no. of balls/weight or yardage, any would be great) are we talking about for the tank-top verson rather than the dress?
I can only find the magazine online and I feel I need to know how much the yarn's going to cost me before I shell out £10 on the pattern!

Once I learned the lace pattern and the math/logic of shaping I had no problems.
