This craftalong not only is fun and inspiring, it makes me see colors in interesting combos!!  I love orange but it is a hard color for me to use just by itself.  I had this gorgeous orange silk vintage kimono fabric that I have wanted to use for years!!

I scarfed up some green vintage silk kimono fabric recently, and, woohoo, I had enough to make another kimono purse!!

There is orange in the embroidered panel in the center (what luck!!)--I added a bit more orange silk for the tab and added orangey/brown beads. Feels like fall now!!

So, here is my (finally!) completed orange project!  It is going to a good home for another swap...

YAY!  It's September!  lol.  So, I've been spinning like crazy lately and here's one of the skeins from my adventures in learning how to use a wheel.  I dyed the roving with Kool-Aid.  Thick and thin, a bit of coils, about 55 yds.  Just ignore the black and white bits.

I'm thinking of making hand warmers, so I may be posting those later this month. Wink

Okay, finished! I decided to weave some orange scarves from soft natural cotton.

One cotton is really loopy, the other is bumpy. Turned out totally cool Cool

And here I thought I hated true orange Shocked Love the orange crafts!

here's a link to the photo, it is pretty large:

This craftalong not only is fun and inspiring, ... It is going to a good home for another swap...

Wish that was me, doggoneit!

That purse is just GORGEOUS! I wish I knew something about sewing. I made a hamburger pillow in the 6th grade during my obligatory semester of home ec....something tells me a bit more skill would be required to produce something of this callibre, though!

Outstanding, Alwaysinmyroom!

Thanks for the compliment. ha ha--I tried making a wire cuff bracelet and failed miserably, so I guess we are even, ha ha!!

I have to charge up my camera but I just finished another one in my favorite color RED!!  I am keeping this one! YAY!

I hope the site is slow cos of the holidays--can't wait to see the crafts!

WOW--I was expecting tons of projects this month!! Maybe I am the only one who likes red? ha ha

Well, here is my first red project for the month. This one is for me since I have never kept one of my own kimono bags!! It will go with so many of my fall and winter pieces as I wear black a lot!!

Here is one side.  It is a traditional crane print on silk fabric.

The back is another crane print.

I think it is red enough for this month!!

Red Red Red.....hmmmmm this should be easy for me especially since I am a rabid FSU (Florida State University) fan and it is football season!

Yet....for some reason....I'm stumped!

How about coloring my hair?  I just put a ton of red goop on my head would that count!?  Wink

OK.....OK....I'll think up a REAL craft for September and red!
