well, i didn't think to take pictures till i started stenciling, but i think you can make out what it started as (if not, it was a plain white tank with lace at the neckline)
this is before i took the stencil off

this is after i took it off. came out pretty good, i think

this is after i made it sparkly

i used regular acrylic paint mixed with textile medium, cardstock for the stencil, elmer's craft bond spray adhesive (it worked okay, i think it could have been a stronger hold, though.. the directions are unclear because it can be permanent or temporary hold, depending on how long you let it sit)
the sparkles didn't stay after i washed it
the design that is left is the heart and star, looks like new, it's been washed a couple times and where the sparkles went over the coloured paint, they're still there.
i think i should have maybe mixed the sparkles in with white paint and they would have stayed, but i don't know. maybe next time i'll get fabric paint sparkles.
any advice? i love shiny stuff.

also, is there a way to stencil shirts with metallic paint and have it stay metallic?

Tulip makes a fabric paint called So Soft, which you brush on.  They come in metallic colors...I've used the silver on a shirt and it still sparkles even after several washes.   Smiley

I think it would be okay as long as you mix it with textile medium.
