I *heart* this!  Your color choice is gorgeous.  I don't have any cats, but I think it would make an awesome floor basket to keep magazines or yarn in.  Thanks for posting this.

I have made this for a friend of mine, her kitten is growing, I used for this kitty pi 2 skeins of different colors Lopi and 1 skein of Grignasco Twister.
I love that cat, he just seems to adore it!

I think cats must really love the smell of wool because my cat can't stay off of anything I block!  Or perhaps he's just hinting that he needs me to make him a Kitty Pi too.... very nice work!

aw, he's so cute!

after the first day, i wasn't sure if Kai would keep using it, but it's been a little cool here in south carolina and he's been curling up in a tight little ball on top of it a lot lately. i think i'll definitely be doubling it next time so he came actually snuggle in it instead of trying to fit his big butt on it. lol.

That is just about the cutest thing I have ever seen!!!

Cats do seem to love these - I'd better get started on some for my 'babies'.

I love kitty pi! And that little siamese cat all passed out in it--ADORABLE! You should send that to that site that showcases impossibly cute things--www.cuteoverload.com.

Quickie:  I want to make one with all of my leftover wool.  Would it work with some bulky yarns and others quite sport weighty?

i doubt it.. unless maybe if you double-stranded the sport? or triple? sport's really light, and it calls for bulky.

I thought I'd share my kitty pi too. I made this for my cat about 2 months ago, and she absolutely loves it. She sleeps in it day and night - even when the weather is warm. I used a bulky wool - Gjestal Naturgarn (sp?).

Her eyes are only scary like that in photos, by the way.
