Does anyone know of any good yarn sites that sells undyed yarn for dying...besides Knit Picks?

I'm looking for sock yarn weight...something very similiar to the infamous...KOIGU

Links would be wonderful.  Thanks.

henry's attic makes an okay superwash merino called Kona.  i've searched and searched for some superwash sock yarn (in quantity) but i've had no luck.   Cry

There's one source for Henry's Attic.

And Dharma Trading has some natural yarns for dyeing as well.

Eunny Jang uses Dale of Norway Baby Ull for her sock dying. . .she said on her dying tutorial that it's superwash, and it comes in many different colors as well as a white and a natural color, so I've been thinking about that.  I've never played with koigu, so I don't know exactly what weight that is.  Sorry!!  Hope this is at all helpful.   Smiley

the baby Ull does take up the dye fabulously, and the socks that i've made from it are among my favorites.  if you can find it cheap, it is a great yarn for this.

I bought some kona superwash at my LYS...it dyed ok, but it has a looser twist than koigu and a kind of fuzzy halo.  i'm not sure it would hold up very well as socks.

Hi folks:  I've been thinking of adding undyed yarns to my stock for sale on eBay and Etsy.  My business, Fearless Fibers, sells handpainted yarns but it seems that everyone is getting into a bit of dying of their own these days, so I thought I might add this to my line.  Sounds like folks might be interested?  I was initially thinking of stocking superwash merino in a sport/DK weight (which makes awesome heavier weight socks and responds BEAUTIFULLY to dye), as well as some blends such as Alpaca/Wool and Mohair/Wool, and maybe some novelty items like the "loopy" mohair boucles you see everywhere.

Interested in folks opinions ... are these the types of items you would be interested in?  I was planning on stocking a small quantity to see how they fly in the next few days.  Any opinions would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
 Deb aka Fearless Fibers
