hey bluepie - yeah, it's not exactly a quick project - mine took me a while - probably 4 or 5 hours (and I've been sewing for years and years!).  It's the straps- I agree.  and yep, I created the pattern myself.  I'd love to see your bag - I'd check the help section for how to upload photos.

Thank you for the tutorial!!  I made one for Mum (for mother's day) and she loves it!!  I didn't have (and have never used) any interfacing so it's not stiff but it works. Smiley  I'm not a very skilled seamstress yet so I had a bit of trouble (not with your instructions, I found them to be very clear and precise) but I managed it in the end.  I'll post pictures of it tomorrow!

Oooh... that's great! Ideas are swirling in my head. If only I didn't have to work, I could stay home and sew all day.  Sigh.

Thanks for the tute. I really like how the straps are reversible -- it's a really nice touch.

i can finally post pictures of the one i made for a swap! this project took my much too long. i had to do a lot of seam ripping. and not because the tutorial was flawed, but because i didn't read properly or i thought i could take short cuts!
