A co-worker of mine is performing in a play for a women's center and I offered to make her a tote bag to be put up in a silent auction. I made it with some wonderful fabric from Robert Kaufman that I got from a great little store in NE Mpls, Crafty Planet. I lined it in a pale blue solid fabric and I also stitched together a matching checkbook cover too. The fabric on the lower half of the bag is a deep chocolate brown with tiny white polka dots. The picture doesn't show them so well. It's the largest bag I've made so far but I thought someone might like the larger size to take on a weekend trip or getaway.

That is a beautiful set.  I love the flowered fabric!  It should generate a nice amount for the women's center.

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. I didn't use a pattern for the tote bag. I purchased 1/2 yard of each of the fabrics and just cut it in two at the crease. It ended up being bigger than I had planned but I thought it could be used for an overnight bag or something.

For the wallet I used the great tutorial from another Craftster, "Sewnikki". It's easy and so far I've made 10 checkbook covers for a craft show I'm doing in May.
