Here is a quilt that I should definitely try to finish.. I'm not even going to quilt it, all I have to do is sandwich it and bind it! It was supposed to be a xmas present for my bf's mother. As you can see, it's all sparkly. Lazy me..  Roll Eyes

This is a pic of a hawaiian quilt block I made. Actually, I have already finished the applique part but can't find the pic.. GRR  Tongue

All I have to do is quilt it and finish it! I don't really know how I should quilt it though...

I am supposed to make another hawaiian quilt block for a swap, in black and white. I haven't decided what pattern to use yet; this one was ok to applique, but I'm trying to see what other simple patterns I could use. Suggestions? Free resources on www?

Thanks for looking!

i think you will be disappointed with the result if you don't quilt it. it will pull away.

That's going to be a lovely quilt Mata! I agree with sarahfroggy, it will probably bunch up and whatnot. Maybe you can tie it?
PS- that kitty is very sweet!

hmmm.. perhaps I'll do some very basic quilting, along the grid lines. It's not very large at all, and it's going to be used as a decorative table center piece.

i think that will be a better idea. because once she washes it, the whole thing would go wonky with no quilting. i made a wallhanging before and didn't quilt it enough, so now it is all bunchy, (not good). as for the Hawaiian blocks have you tried any of the sites listed on this website http://www.freequiltpatterns.info/

Great job on the quilt!  I really like the colors.

I agree with everyone else, you definitely need to quilt it somewhat.  If it was me, I would quilt around each large square.

The hawaiian block is very nice and vivid!
