You're right, it sure is.

That makes tomorrow the anniversary of the day that Santa Anna officially surrendered to Sam Houston.  It's also my birthday!

I love this painting inspired by that day.

That one.

Interesting Texas Trivia:

The official battle song of the Battle of San Jacinto was "Come to the Bower," which is an old English pub song in which a drunk man invites a woman to go have sex with him in a secluded area.  This is because it's the only song the marching band knew.  Tongue

I just moved to Texas about a year ago!
This is definitely going to go on my list of swaps to possibly do.  I've been a little nervous about participating in a swap because I see the wonderful work all you crafters do, and I am not sure my stuff would be as good.

You should participate.  Your crafts don't necessarily have to look professional, as long as they are made from the heart.  We'd love to have you!

Texas still reserves the rightto cede from the union and become its own country once again. It is the only US country to do so.

Anybody have margaritas last night?

And along the lines of the previous trivia...I think that because of that, it's the only state in the union that is allowed to fly its flag at the same height as the stars and stripes.  All other state flags have to be hung lower.

the general rule is at LEAST 3 items, you can put in more  if you want to. My personal requirement is that at least one of them be totally handmade.

Glad to see it hasn't, though!

Edit: And sorry if I'm being slow, but uh....*embarrassed chuckle*...in that list on page one...who do I send to, and who do I receive from?
