I'm cold. And my legs hurt.

Ahhh that's all I do these days. Fun times. Sometimes I even get money for it Tongue
Most of the time, however, I dink around with leftover fabric.
Like today, for instance.
I felt like making something for ME (that I'd actually wear)... and I remembered that I had some fuschia fabric layin around (literally... shame on me for my cleaning skills).
So I whipped up this sassy little number...

Here's a closeup of the top part... You can sorta see the fakey mother-of-pearl snaps at the top (which I'm having a hard time keeping shut cuz I don't have the proper pliers-type thingy, and I was just banging on them with a hammer and all these complicated bits of metal.)

And if we're wondering, this is what I originally made of the fabric... just a simple wrap skirt that I fancied up with some embroidery (eventually) and some red piping around the edges.

And since I'm here and making a post, here's one I made for my mom in a similar style, except there's no piping or rounded front bit. She just got it in the mail today and called me and was like "I'M WEARING IT RIGHT NOW!!!" and was all excited. Ahhhh my mom.

(Yeah that's me wearing it... it looked so fun, and I couldn't resist. Plus it's nice to make something in my size, since the girl I've been making stuff for is SOOOO tiny that I couldn't dream of ever fitting the clothes I made for her. Plus it'd be kinda creepy if I did wear them...)
Here's the embroidery I did on it...

I like how I never take pictures once the embroidery is done on stuff. I've always got one of the plain skirt and one closeup of the embroidered part. It just never occurs to me to wait.
Ah well.
This has gotten long enough, and if you've made it all the way to the end, congratulations and thank you!!

Those are great!
I especially love the first one- reminds me of a vintage '70s skirt I have.
Very nice.
And the second one looks kind of retro-'70s-cool too.
Love them!
