woo!  it finally dried!  still a bit stiff, but i think a couple of washing and wearings should fix that.  made with sugar 'n cream in "seashore" and matching pink and blue because i love cotton yarn and i'm cheap.  i really wasn't sure about the colors as i was making it (my sister picked them out for me,) but now i really like it.  a couple of people were concerned about butt-coverage, and for me that problem solved itself in blocking.  i used a ribbon for the tie that i got at hobby lobby for 1/2 off and it matches perfectly!

excessive pictures:

i kinda want to make another entirely out of ribbons and call it the violet baudelaire.   Wink

This skirt reminds me of Aldous Huxley.

Well, the first reason is most trivial - the cover of Brave New World as it was published here in Estonia has similar pink and green colours (on black background) Wink But the analogy goes deeper than that, I think. The forming pattern is kind of psychedelic .. reminds me of The Doors of Perception and the like.

I can clearly see I've been doing way too much literary studies - I'm interpreting skirts ! Oh dear.

Your skirt is lovely! But, more importantly, I loved your Violet Baudelaire / ribbon reference!  Smiley

There will always be people who say mean words  because you are different, and sometimes their minds cannot be changed. There are many more people who do not judge others based on how they look or where they are from. THOSE are the people whose WORDS truly matter.
