Hi--Anyone here live in/around Akron? I'm in Fairlawn....I should drive my lazy butt up to Cleveland more often, but my best intentions never seem to happen  Wink I'm mostly into sewing/quilting but I'm also interested in most other stuff. Anyway, if anyone's interested in getting something together here in beautiful Summit County, let me know! BTW, if anyone's looking for fabric shops around here I finally went to the Fabric Peddler on College St. in Wadsworth, she had some great stuff  Smiley

I clicked on the topic because I go to the University of Akron [and when I was working at Summit Mall, I swear I spent more time in Summit county than I did at home!], but was shocked to see Wadsworth mentioned at the end. Even more so, the Fabric Peddler - I live right across the street from it! Small world, huh?

I'm currently going to school at Hiram College.  Isn't that somewhere nearby?  Going to mapquest.... 45 minutes.  I thought it was closer than that.  But Hiram is in the middle of nowhere........

I find it hilarious that you asked him to take you shopping in Wadsworth! Generally, we all go up to Fairlawn to do our shopping. There's been a lot of new development here, and I keep praying that they put a Michael's, JoAnn's or Pat Catan's in somewhere. I actually haven't been to the Fabric Peddler since middle school, maybe I should stop in sometime.

Ooo, do they have any yarn?  I just drove nearly half an hour yesterday to a Walmart just for yarn, and it really didn't have much of a selection.   Cry

hmmm {thinks hard} i think they do... i don't knit so i didn't pay much attention to the yarn. there is a nice yarn/fabric/embroidery store in cuyahoga falls on state road: stitch, piece & purl. they had a lot but i'm not the best yarn-judge

There was an Herb & Craft festival downtown today, so while I was walking around I ducked into the Fabric Peddler - what a selection! I'll have to go back when I have more time.

As for yarn, there is a connected little area called "Sally's Shop" that has a selection of yarn, but it's not very organized and you'll have to really look to find what you need.
