So what is this fabric peddler?  I've been thinking about learning to quilt but it's not something I've really actively pursued quite yet.
FP's a great fabric shop in wadsworth. they also do yarn, but they're kinda geared toward quilting. some of us have wanted to have an outing there sometime b/c they just have great fabric (as opposed to many other quilting shops around here, believe me, i've scouted most of them  Wink) quilting's a lot of fun, i love it (though i've only made one huge quilt i've done lots of small quilting projects) it's really not as hard as it seems. i'd be happy to give you some pointers if you're interested!

FP sounds amazing.  I love massive amounts of crafty stuff.

I was thinking about learning to quilt by hand, bought quilting for dummies, but when I started reading it kinda scared me.  There were so many different kinds of fabric, and different kinds of every other item used... it was just scary.

Dee, maybe you can hold a beginner's quilting class for us! I have tons of fabric squares that I bought on ebay with the intent to learn to quilt (but mostly just because the fabric was awesome Wink) and I've looked at some of the books in the library but it still kinda scares me.

And yes, Fabric Peddler IS amazing. You'd think I'd be in there every day since I live just across the street, but the boyfriend would KILL me if I brought home all the fabric I wanted from there.  Cheesy

That's how I was at the great lakes fiber show.  Bought far too much fiber.  It's stuff I can't buy around here though.  heeh... that's my excuse at least.

!!! i'd love to!! though i don't quilt by hand. i'm a patient woman, but not that patient  Wink not too long ago i made a quilted tote bag, maybe we could all recreate that with various fabrics. some of the best quilting advice i got was how to coordinate colors so they look amazing together. so we could combine a fabric store stop and quilting pointers! (starting with your fave fabric and getting complementary stuff to back it up). let me try to find the pic of my tote bag...i used a pinwheel block but we can try something else (the pinwheel was really easy)

It's cute! I just need to learn how to get the basic idea of piecing down (I'm sure it's pretty simple, but in my head it seems so complicated).
