Ok, so my partner is changing her name from "HerFirstName HerLastName" to "HerFirstName HerLastName MyLastName" next month.  (She currently has no middle name, so she'll take HerLastName as her middle name)

I need ideas for gifties!!

And they don't necessarily have to be craft-related.

So far, I've come up with notepads.  And that's about it.

HELP!

(btw, my dad wanted to put up one of those "It's a Girl!" signs in their yard.  Think he's honored about all this?)

a little laminated card that said "Today Your Name Is {her new name}" I changed my name last summer after much back and forth and it was sooooo annoying during the transition. It was like, OK sign checks MyName, sign credit receipts HisName, my license is one and the passport is another, some work signins on one, people emailing me at another... it was a mess, very identity-confusing  Cheesy Anyway, I'm thinkin a little card to slip in her wallet that she can just look at and chuckle

Cheesy I'm amusing myself way too much with this, but you could make it like those name tags, with the big red top and write "Hello, your name is ...."  Grin

I like this.  May combine it with your other idea, and laminate it to put it into her wallet.

Which, I'm thinking of getting her a new one.  New name means new wallet, right?

what about return address labels? you know the ones we all get at some point in our life, when we think we really need, need, need the mail carrier to know that we love beagles? I got them when i was just starting out in life, and had money to burn. before i knew what an expense just living is.

they are so totally unneccessary, that they are a little bit of geeky luxury. I had snoopy and woodstock ones. hee hee hee.

or what about one of those bracelets with the letter beads on on it?

The address labels are a good idea.  She's just started quilting, so I may try to find some labels with some sort of quilted image on them.

Maybe something monogrammed with her new initials? Towels, pillowcases, jewelry, trinket box, a purse or compact? Or those giant letters with her new intials, you could do something crafty with them.
Congratulations to you both, by the way!!  Kiss

How about a monogramed wallet? New business cards, if she has that kind of job.

Your dad sounds great!

Congratulations.  I was going to say anything monogramed, but of course it's been said.  A pen with her name on it so she remembers when she signs somethin (I know there were times that I needed to sign again. Roll Eyes  A nice cross stitch (or toll painted sign) that says "THe home of Her Name + Your name", or the "Your last name's".
