hi. i'm new to this site. (i absolutely love it by the way) i am planning to open an online store soon and i've been looking a different web hosting companies. dot5hosting seems to have the best deal out there. has anyone here had any experience with them? i'm wondering if they are really as good as they look. any info about them is greatly appriciated.

thanks,
bethy

price-wise, godaddy.com is much, much cheaper. feature-wise, i'm not sure what it is that you need, so i'm not sure which would be better for you.

personally i haven't used either, but i am planning to use godaddy if its any matter.

A really good site for comparing webhosts is http://webhostingtalk.com/

Basically you search for the relevant host's name, and see what reviews people have.

I can't speak for Dot5's customer service (yet), but I just got a year's worth of hosting there for $11.88 using this customer code: D5YEARLY.

Good luck! Smiley Erin

i did end up sign up for dot 5 hosting. so far their customer service have answered all my questions. their chat feature for help can be a bit annoying at time. i don't think english is their first language so communication over chat is slow and sometimes doesn't make total sense. i've only called once and that went well. oh yeah, my email email didn't work in my version internet explorer. i downloaded moxialla/fire fox and it works fine with it. just incase you have the same problem. congrats on getting that great deal too. i payed $60 for a year.

I think my response is a bit late but....

I just looked at their website and looked up their WhoIs information. They are a reseller for iPower.

I would be very careful when dealing with resellers because sometimes you're not getting what they tell you you're getting....

If you're going to go with that company - go with their parent company instead.
