hmmm... it started off pretty quiet.i got there at 9:30 and there was no one there except other stall holders. it kinda picked up by 11, but i think mostly coz people showed up for the aro valley bloc party.

we didn't really sell much, but we were flogging anarchist literature rather then crafts so maybe the crafters did better.

anyway i'm sure it'll pick up momentum if they keep organising them, and have them later in the day.

Ah. Very interesting, thanks. I might email the organiser and see what the story is for next month. Cheers,

Hi,

Is there any kind of S&B type craft group in Wellington?  I'd like to be able to knit in company.  A friend in Paraparaumu goes to a craft night at the community centre - once a fortnight or so people of all ages rock up with their crochet, cross-stitch, sketching or whatever.  Sounds fab.  Does anyone know of a group like that reachable by bus from Newtown, or should I start one up?

Cheers, BB

we used to hold the clandestine revolutionary sewing circle at 128 abel smith st on sunday afternoons but lately we've all been busy sundays so it hasn't happened.

there's a new knitting circle being held at the southern cross on thursdays from 7 til 9 though, here's the info:

HOLY KNIT BATMAN!
A knitting circle for beginner and experienced knit nerds.

7-9pm every Thursday at the Southern Cross.

There will be some wool, needles, patterns and other bits and pieces for those starting out, and I'll be around to teach people the wrong way of doing things.

i am sorry for being a bad, rude swapper. i am sorry to all the partners i flaked on, and all the feelings i hurt. i feel really guilty, my life is messed up right now and i got greedy and selfish. i didnt think about anything but getting nice things. i am so sorry everyone. i'll be leaving now.

there's an awesome op shop in newtown called opportunity for animals. it's on riddiford st and the proceeds all go to animal rights groups. newtown also has a salvation army which is pretty affordable, and there's another salvation army on ghuznee st in town. there's an op shop on cuba st which is a tad pricey but still worth going too. and there's a few save marts in the suburbs i think, but i never really make it out that way.
