I'm in bind. I've made all the grandmother's fans for a bedspread size quilt and the person I'm making it for has informed me that she doesn't want them to be "blocks sewn together". She wants something different and it's up to me to decide what that is.
My mind is a blank. Any ideas?

Well, quilting IS "blocks sewn together", techically speaking..  Tongue
I found this:
Asian Fans
It is more contemporary kind of, so I don't know..
Maybe you could do a round quilt with all the fans in a circle?
I think you should ask her more about what she wants, because there is not much to do with grandmother's fans, unless she'll tell you more  Smiley
I know I'm not much help >_<;; Sorry! hope it all works out!

If she meant she didn't want the blocks sewn together with sashing between each block like in the Asian Fan link.  You can sew them together without the sashing, 4 fans together to make the Dresden plate pattern.

Is this person paying you for this quilt?  I think she should take whatever lovely thing you decide to make with a smile an an enormous amount of gratitude.
