I have one sock of the pair of these done...it came out pretty well considering it was my first lace pattern.   It's quite snug at the heel/ankle, but seems to be Ok.  (I have big feet, size 10).  I used artyarns Ultramerino in a sagey green color--expensive but so pretty--I hope they will last.

Now all I have to do is make the 2nd one!  Sigh.

Argh!  I got to the end of sock #1 about 2 weeks ago, and have been putting off finishing it ever since.  I am now positive that I have been doing the lace pattern the wrong way all along, and although it still looks nice enough, i just can't decide whether I should rip out and start again, or be satisfied with my less than perfect socks.  I think the problem lies in the second yo of the first round, which I, ummm, (cough)just didn't do(/cough)  since the next step was a purl, I put the yarn in front, but only once...not twice as it appears to instruct you to do.  So now my lace looks a little wonky...but only compared to how it's supposed to look...

It's actually not too noticeable. Initially, I had to do a double-take to really see the "wonki-ness". I can understand not wanting to frog, but then I can understand the need for knitted perfection.  Wink

I think they look nice, and I like your color.

DON'T FROG!

I like yours better than the knitty version, lepetitsoldat! The color and the lace pattern is beautiful! As Knit_Dork24 said, I also had to do a "double take" to notice the "mistake".

Make another one, it is really nice! Not less than perfect at all!!!

I started mine yesterday.  Honestly, if I hadn't bought the yarn with these socks in mind, I might have given up already.  This is my first try with lace knitting and also with using such a thin yarn.  My fingers feel like they're working overtime.  On a positive note, After pulling out the lace pattern 2x, I think I finally got the hand of it.

Everyone elses are looking beautiful.

WIP pics!

Ignore the gross foot, I was in socks and boots all day.

I must say, I am really enjoying this pattern. I think everyone in this KAL is doing a great job, and they need to keep going! *sending confidence vibes to everyone here*

lepetitsoldat, I think your *accidental modification* (as I like to call it) looks fabulous. Unless someone is way nit-picky and is familiar with the pattern, everyone is gonna think it's supposed to be that way.

"Accidental modification" Hee !!!
I like that. Alot.  Okay, everyone is being way encouraging and supportive and I think the consensus is to soldier on, so that I will.  I have to admit, i loved my sock until that little voice started peeping up and casting doubt on my lace-knitting abilities, and I am still not sure if or what my mistake really was...now, I seem to have "misplaced" one of my dpns, (read: my cat has made off with it and it has rolled under a dresser or couch) so once I track that down, I will continue with the other sock!  Thanks everyone Smiley

So, I've been complaining about how dificult this project has been, but now I'm hooked.  Once I turned the heel and started seeing an end, I got motivated.  Here's my progress so far.  (My skin isn't that bad.  My cell phone just takes icky pics. Huh)

The question is, will I be embarking on the journey or creating a 2nd one?  Undecided
