they can be a little challenging, imho.  the only thing i've ever attempted was something from the "simple knits" section and one of the staff patterns.

i am looking forward to this issue.....  thanks for the heads up!

I think I just might be buying this issue.

I really like the eyelet chemise and fairy net blouse.  The staff projects look lovely.

WA state as in western australia (not whatever US state has WA as its abbreviation)? yep.
perth - mossie park way.

i'm sick to death of nothing but novelty yarns and really, really basic patterns.

I'm not quite getting the massive amounts of wool used for garments in a summer magazine, but those are some gorgeous patterns.

ohhh... i dig those little crowns!
i saw adult-sized ones in cashmere in Berlin for something like 50 or 60 euro! forgot all about them until now... i shall knit myself one and wear it proudly on Bad Days.

BUT *dilemma* i like the look of the back of the marseilles sweater; but i can't see the front. so i can't choose between waiting for the magazine an deciding between that and knitty's anatolia, or just starting on anatolia. i can't afford yarn for two sweaters. and if i buy the anatolia yarn now my LYS has a sale... but, but what if marseilles is BETTER? Ohhhhh *gnaws fingernails at the unfairness of being a student*

I think you should get the yarn for Anatolia now while it is on sale. If you like Marseilles, it can just be your next project. Don't let yourself get distracted by these teaser pictures on IK. Focus!  Smiley

Okay, after seeing this preview, I finally broke down and subscribed. Just from the preview I saw 6-8 things I might want to knit. When you consider that after reading the latest Vogue KI cover-to-cover there were were only two things I could imagine doing (and only if I learn twelve new techniques and use size 2 needles), it seemed like IK might be the more useful magazine for me.
