Hey, I was wondering if there's any way to soften up acrylic yarn? It seems like when I use it to crochet, say a scarf, the yarn is kind of rough and itchy. Is there any way I can "rough it up" to soften it and make it look kind of fuzzy? Thanks!! Smiley

in my experience, scratchy acrylic tends to stay scratchy, and get worse with time.  there are some softer acrylics out there.  If you're really into the acrylics (i.e. don't have the money or interest in natural fibers) I would go for taking the yarn at the store, and rubbing it on your face and neck in the store.  That's a pretty good way to tell.

good luck!
