I LOVE IT!!!
It's the cutest baby bag I have ever seen and I've seen loads (my sister went on a rampage to get a cute baby bag when my neices where born)
If i can offer a suggestion to make it even better....
Make a loop that can be unlatched with velcro or something that can be wrapped aroung a pacifier handle or a bag for the pacifier
My youngest neices "binkie" didnt have a little loop thing to string anything thru and the rubber rapping things that went on them were horrible!

CrashTestDuckie - That's what I made the key ring on the side of the bag.  I figured she could either use it for keys if she wanted to put the pacifier in a pocket, or she could hook the pacifier to the clip.  I guess it depends on what kind of pacifier she uses... Perhaps I'll make something more versitile in my next one.  I figured if the clip didn't work for the pacifier, there were still 6 pockets for her to use:)

refuse2bedefined:  I got the hook at Walmart.  It's with the purse handles and totes and whatnot.  It was a little packet that came with 2 key ring loops, 2 hooks and a couple of those beaded chains.  Pretty cool!:)

Rhino:  Also good ideas!  I would have done a bit more, like make a changing pad or a matching purse for mom, but I have another bag to make for another Mommy who's about to pop, plus I'm trying to create stock for my etsy store.  That bag as it was took me a while because I only had a few hours here and there to work on it...plus it was my first of that sort, and I had to come up with the dimensions and whatnot...I'm still a bit slow at that stage.  Hopefully my next one will go by a bit quicker.

Wow - that's really nice! I'd be proud to carry that around!

We looked long and hard for a diaper bag that didn't look like a diaper bag... maybe mine can have an unfortunate accident, then my hubby would let me buy a new one.  Tongue

If you ever made another, we bought one that has a padded change pad attached to the front, that zips down for changes, it's very handy.

I'm so jealous now.

That fabric is amazing! Fantastic choice of coordinating patterns! The whole bag is brilliant, you wouldn't know it was a diaper bag from the outside.

The key holder is genius! The amount of times I've had to dump out a whole bag of kid stuff to find my keys! I think your friend will find that really useful.

You've only been sewing a few months!?

Good god woman you've got The Gift!

Gee .... I wish I had the gift...

*sighs pathetically* - could i ask if you don't possibley mind how you made it so square?

Honestly, that is so neat well done!

I know what you mean solid_silver_cloud.  I was kind of sad to see it go, but my friend absolutely adores it so I feel better now.  Her husband thought I bought it at the store!:)

I made it square by making the front, back, sides and bottom seperate pieces and sewing them together.  I was extremely intimidated at first but once I put the pieces together it just kind of worked out:)

As far as being new to sewing, I got the machine in December as an early Christmas present and have been dabbling here and there.  I've only made bags...so far this one is my 7th bag, but 4 of the previous onces were easy peasy made from placemats and most of them were unlined...and then I found this site!!!  God there's so much talent here and so many fabulous ideas...it's been such an inspiration.  I wouldn't say I've got the gift (though I really appreciate that compliment!!!), I'd say that I have the power of craftster!!:)

If you try to make something square, there's a tutorial out there for the "easy peasy tote" or something similar, I think she details how to put all the seperate pieces together.  I glanced at it but kinda winged it from there.

Thanks again everybody!

I'm a real chicken and i never have the courage to 'wing' something...

Even when I try as soon as i'm about to make a cut i run away in fear to search for a tute on craftser...

oh the shame, oh the shame  Embarrassed
