I recently bought a house is December.  The whole place is one giant empty canvas & my husband & i have a LOT of work ahead of us..  I plan on doing a lot more with the bathroom, including tiling the bottom half of the walls & the floors and getting some color in there by throwing up some paint...I'd luv any ideas that anyone may have.  For now, I've just prettied it up with some butterflies & fairies...i think i want to stick with the theme...

before:  (boring!)

now:

some switchplates i made...

and the fairies...

oh & in the closet, I made these barette holders for my extensive barette collection.  Smiley

So pretty! You've really livened the room up! I love your switchplates - that is really artistic. And the barrette idea is fantastic - what a fun thing to do with ribbon!

I have a lot of African tie-dye fabric (100% cotton) that I need to clear out - contact me if interested, and we can swap for stuff?
I love personal swaps.

Very nice...now get some paint on those walls PRONTO LOL!!!!  It would be beautiful in blue with clouds on all the walls...like all the fairies and butterflies were living in the clouds!

Good luck with your house...I am in the exact same situation!

That's so pretty and cheery!
...I've always wondered why builders put windows over toilets, though...

how did you make the switchplates? they're so pretty!

maybe you could paint the bathroom a terracotta sort of colour? you wouldn't want to go dark in such a small space but plain white can look very stark. and you already have orangy tones in the border of the shower curtain
