they're made with fleece, but any non fraying material would work Smiley

Yes!!!!!!
Finally a use for my leftover fleece! If you make them minus fringe they would be really cute rattley blocks, even make them different sizes..... I'd better get started.
Thanks cheeky, these are real cute.

Yeah its a great way to use smallish bits of fleece. you can also make ball shaped ones by making 4 pointed oval pieces about 5 inches long and about 3.5 inches wide at the widest part and sewing those together. good luck!

you can really stuff them with whatever soft stuffing you like. some people might use poly fill, others might use styrofoam...its a personal preference. Smiley

Thanks for posting these! I made this last month for a baby shower!

I couldn't find a cheap rattle to put inside, so I just got a 35mm film canister and filled it with some beads and taped it shut. Smiley Cheap rattle!

I crocheted  6 squares using back loops only then crocheted them together and then using a pingpong ball to make a rattle I cut an X in the pingpong ball and stuffed in a few jingle bells then taped up the ball put poy-fill around the pingpong ball and put that inside the block and finshed sewing together and makes a nice rattle sound. Looks like this:

 Shocked
This is such a great idea! You've inspired me to make some cool Christmas gifts for a couple of guys that are hard to craft for....Fuzzy Dice!!!

Don't know why I hadn't thought of it before.....they're both very much into cars and this would be great for them.

Thanks for the inspiration!   Cheesy

This reminds me of the day when I was crazily crafting stuffed toys but couldn't find any fiberfill. I used plastic grocery bags instead. It's a good way to recycle and makes a cool sound when you squish it. *crinkle crinkle* Anyways...babies might like that?

that's a great idea! I think maybe I'll make a set of both, one with a rattle, and one with a *crinkle crinkle* Thanks for the inspiration!

the crinkle is a good idea too and here's another suggestion.  at the dollar store they have sets of cat toys that are little plastic balls with bells inside.  that would work too.  these are cute, cheekymama.

These are beautiful -- I think I'll make a set for my niece, who is about 6 months old - she's started rreachhing out and holding things.

Thank you for sharing this idea!
