Last week I finished this cross stitch piece, which has been an on-again, off-again project for me since 1999(seriously). It's designed by Teresa Wentzlerhttp://www.twdesignworks.com and is called, fittingly enough, the Castle Sampler. It's stitched on evenweave, and has portions of over one and over two stitching.

I know it's a little more...intense...than some of the stitching on here, but I like the complicated detailed stuff. Or I might just be insane...it's hard to tell some days what the difference is Smiley

Anyway, on to the pictures!

This is a beautiful cross stitch piece.

For something of that size and complexity, it doesn't surprise me at all to take a few years to finish. You have to take a break from it now and then and finish something.

My husband (yes he does cross stitch - absolutely beautiful work) is working on a piece that has been going for over 7 years now. He likes really big designs.

It's gorgeous.  It will be a real keepsake for you.   Congratulations for completing it.  I finished a large cross-stitch that I put away for years in between.  I think it stretched out to four or so.  Now I'm working on a baby blanket cross-stitch that I started for my friend when he told me he and his wife were having their first - she's 10 now.  I have meant to finish it and give it to about 5 babies, but all I have left is Z for Zebra and outlining and I am giving it to my friend who is due in August.  I mean it this time!

Sorry for the rant.  Your piece is beautiful.  Be sure to frame it so it will be protected forever.

It looks fabulous.  I do cross-stitch myself, so I know how time-consuming it can be.  Great job.  Smiley

It really is gorgeous. Now all it needs is a great frame and matting and a place where everyone can see it in your house. Smiley

That's beautiful!  What do you intend to do with it now?  (As in, hang on the wall, incorporate into a quilt, etc.)
