I actually received from starsaver a couple of days ago and for some reason it didn't even dawn on me to find the gallery *smacks self in head*. Anyway, here's what I got:

(sorry about the crappy picure!)

Playlist:

1. The D in Detroit - The Anniversary
2. Long Island - That Dog
3. Papillon - Rilo Kiley
4. The Power Is On - The Go! Team
5. To Wide Homes - The New Pornographers
6. Its - Architecture in Helsinki
7. Burn- Rainer Maria
8. Beautiful Dreamer - Mates of State
9. Act of the Apostate - Belle and Sebastian
10. There Goes My Gone - The Pixies
11. Clap and Cough - Discount
12. Nature and the Wreck - Mates of State
13. Already Lost - Rainer Maria
14. Souvenirs - Architecture in Helsinki
15. Asshole - Rilo Kiley
16. Fake French - Le Tigre
17. Jigsaw Youth - Bikini Kill
18. Wilderness - Sleater Kinney
19. Hart Crane - The Anniversary
20. The Absence of God - Rilo Kiley

It really is a great disc; starsaver had an uncanny sense of what I'd like. I am loving The Anniversary and Rainer Maria, neither of whom I'd ever heard before. I wasn't really familiar with Rilo Kiley's music (though I've been listening to Jenny Lewis's solo album over and over), so it was cool to get to hear them, along with Architecture in Helsinki and Mates of State, who I was familiar with but hadn't really heard a lot of. And I already have big love for The Go! Team and the New Pornographers Smiley. I even like the Belle and Sebastian song, and I've never been a big fan of theirs  Wink.

So that was a really rambly way to say "Thanks, starsaver!"  Cheesy

You guys, serisoulsy, this was my first swap and I did such a bad job with my CD!  I am sorry, Karen. I feel really bad, I feel like I should send another CD.  I didn't make any design for the CD itself, it just is a plain CD that i pulled from the top of my stack of blank CDs, and the cover is nothing great either.  After looking at some of what you guys have sent to each other, i feel bad about my cd!!

Sad

hey, don't feel too bad!  At least you actually went through and picked songs out and sent, instead of flaking!  And the music is what really counts anyway, so don't worry too much about it!!  Cheesy

I can tell you, Fall is composed of

1 part dead fish smell
1 part wet leaves
1 part arctic chilled air (not winter chilled variety)
2 parts crunchy walking
a pinch very cold rain
some apples you picked yourself
a few very still moments
a good deal of inner reflection

Hopefully my partner doesn't hate me too much!! Haha.  I will definatly now know for next time that I need to put more time into it.   I did put a lot of time into picking out the songs, but then sort of ran out of time at the end for putting the whole thing together and making it look cool.  Oh well.  I took pics of the case, but I'll wait to post them until Karen gets them (or see if she is going to post pics when she get it.)

I didn't wrinkle the playlist before I sent it! I swear!

No, you didn't. That would be my cat, who loves (and I mean LOVES) to sleep on paper.  Grin

Kitty1256,
Don't worry about a thing. Guess what!? I don't have a label maker or anything and so your CD is straight off the top of the stack as well Smiley

I am in the same boat with the jewel case cover. I found a picture and printed it on my computer.

I will love having a new CD and can't wait for it to get here. I won't be disappointed at all!

Everyone else:,
I am enjoying looking at your playlists. There are tons of bands I have never heard of...but also some bands/singers I love. I was surprised to see "The HeadCoattees(sp?)" on someone's list. My boyfriend has some of their albums (also their boyfriends) on vinyl.

I actually ended up having a hard time choosing songs. When I lived with my old roommate we used to get our student loan checks and go buy some new CDs (not a large amount of course and strictly for education purposes)...we would make sure that neither of us picked the same ones, when she moved out I suddenly had this huge gap in my music collection. I swear she must have picked all the girl groups when we went shopping. Where was all my Bjork? Siousxie & the Banshees? I know I at least had a copy of the Feminine Complex.  Undecided

I didn't realize there was a gallery for this! I received from my partner a couple of weeks ago, so as soon as I get a chance, I'll post the playlist. Everyone's CDs look awesome so far Smiley
