Okay, I was having a hard time with the measurements for the waist part of the circle skirts.  So I went off to JoAnn's and used my 40% coupon to buy a circle skirt panel.  Now I understand it much better.  But I also learned how to put in a zipper nicely, how to make a waistband and how to attach rickrack to the hem!  So it was a good lesson for $6.

Here is a closeup of the fabric:

Here is the skirt on:

I really like that the skirt hides a multitude of flaws!LOL  I've been getting compliments all day.  I'm pretty pleased and think that now I can make one following the patterns on here.

The skirt is really nice! And you didn't cheat. Making clothes from a pattern count too. And its pretty! Keep it up, and you won't even need the pattern anymore!

I love that - "independent study"LOL

Thanks for the kind remarks everyone!  Some people have looked at me funny today, but I think it's because my town doesn't really get fashion for 3-5 years after everyone else!

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names, and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box

I think that the students took the skirt well - college students are easier with everyone having their own style; it was the other employees that looked at me funny!LOL
