Wow, it's been so long since I've really posted.  I found out I was finally pregnant, and nothing seemed to matter anymore...not in a bad way, I guess I was so amazed at creating a human being it drained all my creative energy for a few weeks. Smiley   Anyway. I also finally finished my Santa cross stitch a couple weeks ago.  It got really hard towards the end because of all the fancy stitches like couching and braiding - I swear I will never braid again.  Tongue   it's not framed yet, but I'm SO glad I finished it before the baby!  My mom still has a giant latch hook rug she never finished because of me.  For the past 26 years she's had 12 rows to go. lol

It was a Dimensions Gold Collection kit...they have the best detail and shading, but I don't know if I have the patience to try another one!

A little blurry, but I always seem to forget to take pictures when the sun's still out.

And Isis helping show the scale.  Wink

I had to change one thing though.  The tree behind his pack has gold french knots.  The instructions told me to use five strands of metallic gold thread.  Didn't work unless the french knot is supposed to be three inches big with loops all over the place Wink   That was the most impossible thing I've ever tried.

Great work.  Even though I've made one cross stitch that size and working on 2 more, I'm still amazed at every one I see.  And Isis is so pretty!

Wow- I love you Santa cross stitch.  I am working on a stocking for my nephew but the design is nowhere near as nice as yours

Beautiful!!  The first pic doesn't even look like a cross stitch, it looks like a drawing!  Once again, Beautiful!  p.s. Congratulations!  Once your baby is born there will be no more cross stitching!  Mine is a year and a half old and I am just now getting to do some of the projects I've been waiting to finish!  But it is completely and absolutely worth it!!

Currently taking a hiatus from swapping.  Sad

Thanks  Smiley   I picked up the kit at Hobby Lobby (four years ago...heh) when they had a finished one of it framed on the top shelf.  It looked so amazingly good, not like a cross stitch at all, I had to get it.   Then when I opened it later with my mom, she started laughing when she saw how big the chart was.    I'm working on another one the same size, but not near as much detail.  I think there were fifteen shades of red in his coat, different shades of floss and then some where you had to blend two colors.   The one I'm working on now is more simple so it'll be faster to finish.

I think Isis was mad that I finished it, she loved stealing the floss.   Cheesy
